SUPER BOWL SOUNDTRACK
BATTLE OF THE BEATS
Each Super Bowl week, JReid InDeed hosts Coding for the Culture, where we introduce, inspire, and expand computer science education to students from underserved and underrepresented communities — through music. Participants will use EarSketch, a free online code editor, to compose musical remixes using songs from top recording artists.
Super Bowl LVIII will be hosted in Las Vegas, and the 2024 Coding for the Competition is reserved for 30 students from Democracy Preparatory Academy at Agassi Campus. The school's selected students will participate in two virtual computer science workshops and conclude with a coding competition for students to share their final presentation, remixing various beats and songs to create the "hypest beat" for the Super Bowl.
Coding for the Culture will host a panel of judges to evaluate the student's beats/songs and provide awards for the top 3 winners. All students will leave with swag, certificates, and additional prizes. The Coding for the Culture initiative is an integrative experience that highlights building STEM and computer science skills while empowering students to be creative and use their originality to create something memorable.
