Kansas City Chiefs safety Justin Reid brought holiday cheer to local families during a “Thanksgiving Grocery Grab” on Friday night, just days before Sunday’s primetime game. Partnering with his foundation, JReid InDeed, Hy-Vee, and Kansas City Public Schools, Reid provided $200 gift cards to 30 families to help them purchase Thanksgiving groceries. Many of the families, supported by the district’s Language Services Department, are refugees or newcomers to the country. Reid reflected on the impact of his own mentors growing up, using this opportunity to give back. His efforts inspired other Chiefs players to contribute, raising $6,000 to support the cause and make the event even more meaningful.
