We launched Year 3 of our Fully Charged Program in partnership with Cyber Creationz Tech and Elevate Metro KC! Hosted at Center High School, students will take on a series of hands-on learning opportunities that encourage growth, and innovation!
Session 1: Kickoff + Intro to Web Design
We launched Year 3 of our Fully Charged Program in partnership with Cyber Creationz Tech and Elevate Metro KC! Our first session at Center High School featured an inspiring kickoff and an Introduction to Web Design, giving students the tools to start creating their own digital projects. This is just the beginning of months of hands-on learning, growth, and innovation!
Session 2: Design + Branding
Students explored how design choices shape digital identity, then used CSS to style their personal pages with colors, fonts, spacing, and simple layouts. We discussed brand essentials—clarity, consistency, and authenticity—and applied them to headings, buttons, and sections. The session wrapped with a mini-project: each student created a personal logo or color scheme and implemented it on their page.
Session 3: Interactive Web Elements
Students learned how JavaScript connects to HTML and added basic interactivity with buttons and click functions. We built quick demos like an alert and a simple counter to introduce variables, events, and updating on-screen content. Everyone left with a working prototype featuring at least one interactive element.
